No disrespect meant, but I believe that all 026 have the slot, even without the adjustable oiler.
024 and 024s do not.
So the slot doesn't mean it has the adjustable oiler, just the slot if you ever want to DOWNGRADE to the PRO oiler. I'll take the standard oiler anyday over the PRO, it oils so much better. The Pro is a stingy bugger.
I currently have built around 20 of them. Each and every had the oil slot, except for the 024 model. I may have just gotten later model saws than you did.Believe what you will, but I have owned about a dozen 026/260 saws. Most all were non-PRO models. Only one of the non-PROs had the oil slot in the belly. The rest did not. The problem with the non-PRO oiler is that it puddles at idle, whereas the PRO oiler does not. Not a big issue, but they puddle. I run low profile chains on large mount Picco bars on my 026 and 026/260 hybrid saws, so keeping the bar oiled is not a problem. I also run with Canola oil, which is a little thinner than 30 wt, so the excess oil is not an issue.
I'm working on my 5th non-pro and it's the first one I've seen without the slot.I currently have built around 20 of them. Each and every had the oil slot, except for the 024 model. I may have just gotten later model saws than you did.
Good info.
