Opinions on Belsaw 8800

I've got a line on a mint Belsaw 8800 for cheap. It appreas rock solid. It looks like an Oregon511a. Does anyone have any experience with them? Thanks.

I think they are rated as good and heavy duty ,from past threads
I have a USG (stihl) and its great!

pretty much a clone of the tecomec/ oregon 420- just depends on motor wattage. oregon listed as 220 watts. sometimes motor out to left others out to right( mirror image). the 511 has an adjustable vise front to back. the 8800 does not hence ref to 420.

Thanks everyone. Unfortunately, the guy won't ship it, and it'll cost me as much as he's asking ($75) in diesel to pick it up.

A former co-worker lives near there. He could pick it up and ship it to me, I suppose. But spending an entire day to get a grinder is a big loss of farmwork for me. The fields are growing and I'm working on lots of equipment. There's also a Stihl nearby for more $, but the seller has not responded to multiple calls for 4 days.

Let it go. $150 too much the areas that wear are the head hinge points and the vise clamping cam assembly.
