So my craftsman has been gone threw and everything I have tools to do has been done. But, I ran into a snag. How do you get that spring oil pump gear on without breaking something (I do this way to easily)? I'm thinking of putting it on its side with an appropriate socket and going to town with a hammer. Am I wrong?

P.s. I tried heating it and sliding it on. Must have cooled to fast or didnt get how enough.

Yes, use a socket and lightly drive it on. It stays in place with friction, springing onto the shaft.

Just in case .....What about threading it on in the opposite direction it runs in ?
Tried. Didnt work. But, a 12 mm deep well worked. I didnt know if there was another way. Hopefully, somebody will read this and leave a better way in the comments. This probably wont be the last time I'll deal with this. Thanks everyone.
