I'm reading 20 oz on an AI generated response. Who trusts AI?
Does 20 oz seem reasonable? No owners manual is available.
Calling for SAE 30. Thanks in advance.

On all of the portable generators I sold (Honda, Briggs), you fill the oil to the bottom of the threads of the fill side. I just rebuilt a Briggs 5 HP motor for my tiller and found that to be the same thing ( found documentation on line somewhere). I used 10w 30, but the SAE 30 is what was listed to use.

20 oz. should be correct for this engine.
Double check with the dipstick, if it has one, or the method mentioned above by Hacskaroly if it does not.
30W is recommended unless you are using it in cold weather (probably not).
You can use 10W30, it will start easier but it may consume some oil in hot weather or heavy use. That's OK if you check and top it up periodically, but no one ever does and they run them out of oil.
