I think my cylinder might be worn out. New rings, .027 squish, only 140psi.
Let me know if you have one.

Are the rings brand new, or have they had a chance to break in?I think my cylinder might be worn out. New rings, .027 squish, only 140psi.

I was hoping it was a break-in issue, but it doesn't seem to be. I'm about three tanks in and still no improvement. Are the rings brand new, or have they had a chance to break in?
Plating isn't worn as far as I can tell. I was thinking about finding some bigger rings and filing the gap. Does anyone have a suggestion on a set of rings for it? Oversize 52x1.2mm I guess? Is the plating worn through? Can you resize some over bore rings?
Caber rings?I was hoping it was a break-in issue, but it doesn't seem to be. I'm about three tanks in and still no improvement.
Yep.Caber rings?
Cabers take 10 tanks or so to break in. The plating isn’t very thick and is usable as long as it’s not worn through. Was the end gap excessive on the new rings?Yep.

I have had some Cabers take even more (like 15+ tanks ) to notice break-in. I would consider 150psi to be normal for that after break-in and I’m at 850’.Same gauge was reading 190psi on my 5105 and 195 on my 266. I just haven't had this issue with long break in with Cabers before, but you may be right. Unfortunately I didn't measure end gap, just ball honed the cylinder a couple of passes and threw em in there. I do take into account that I'm up at 5800 ft, so 140 would be more like 160 up here
I'll tear it down and take some sometime soon. Maybe I'll just run it and see what happens after a few more tanks tooAny jug pics?
Agree with all of the above. Caber F-cast take even longer to break in.
Is this one of mine? I should still have picsI'll tear it down and take some sometime soon. Maybe I'll just run it and see what happens after a few more tanks too
Nope, it's actually the saw that got me into saws. My good ole trustyIs this one of mine? I should still have pics
Not worn. It's a new Meteor. Very little slop when in the cylinder. How worn is the piston?
