Dogs, LMAO. No we can’t use dogs to track or hunt. The local clown... er uhm ... DNR said my son in-law couldn’t even help his dad gut & skin his deer without a license because that’s considered “participating in the hunt”. The Iowa DNR can’t find their own arse with both hands. They are more concerned with trying to make a $1 than they are about wildlife management.
thats sad.

Btw, welcome to OPE

I'm in the fence about getting a portaband or a abrasive chopsaw.
Mostly just going to use it for cutting stock up.
Non abrasive chopsaw or portaband. Check out the 18v metal cutting circular saws too. Thinking of adding one to my Makita lineup.

I got a radial arm saw that was giving from a friend that moved out of state. Been sitting outside under a leanto out of the weather. I'm going to throw a metal blade on it give me a upgrade from the grinders when needed.

The mess the chop saws make is my sticking point too.
Look at the Evolution saws on eBay. They're really nice. Price isn't too bad.

EDIT: I've had this one in my Shopping Cart for like a year. Haven't pulled the trigger yet.

wont that be spinning to fast? I was under the assumption that dry cut saws spin slow.

Congratz with the young guys sucess!!! It's a proud day for you DJ!

Is there anyone over there who use hunting dogs after deers? Thinking about dogs who barks when they tracking a deer, to let you know where and the movement of the deer?
Thanks Tor.

You can still hunt deer with dogs in a lot of southern states. The Carolinas and Virginia allow it along with Florida,Alabama and a few others.

Milwaukee makes a metal cutting circular saw that is awesome. We have one at work, quarter inch steel plate is no problem with the right blade. It uses carbide type blades, not abrasive.

that is a shame, that is how we hunt with our small dachs hund dog!

I dont have dachs hund dog at the moment, soon hopefully, if any should shoot a dog I own when we're hunting he can start to count down the minute/hours he has left to live, even my Singaporean wife would probleby give him a bullet! That is of oourse in Norway lol
It's very remote in places here
No one is allowed to hunt deer with dogs.
Here if you care about your dogs you teach them not to.
Many have been shot because owners didn't take care of them.
I had a neighbor that killed several dogs that were just going through his property
Not chasing.
I told him if he hurt any of my animals
I would beat the *s-word out of him.
He never bothered mine.
There was a time in the 80s
A large group 20+ dogs many breeds were abandoned
In the woods and went feral
They were dangerous killing livestock
And had to be put down.
