Go anywhere you want to, sure the 400 was better, but there was more 350's out there and we all survived to this point. A few guys even built them in hot rods but most went for the more stout version.
I have no problems with using the 350.over the 700.

I got a 400 I converted to 4wheel drive sitting in the shed......... probably junk by now.
how did you do that?

Bought the short tail shaft and adapter plate for it.
I had to rebuild it anyway, so I figured it was the time to do it.

Got it sounds like the 350 kit they offer. I just dig the idea of being able to upgrade the trans with out have to change tcase and drive shafts.

Had a 88 Blazer.
Put a 383 and a TH400 in front of the stock Tcase and shafts.

Was that what was in it before? 400 is a 32 spline out where the 700/350 is 27 spline. My 85 had a np208 and the 91 2500 suburban has a 4l80e and 241.
