And the trans in the truck works but it's a 700r4 that's gonna *s-word its self when ever I get around putting the motor back in.

700R4 ain’t bad. Had one in the Jeep behind a Chevy 350 (12.5” lift, 38” TSLs, Ford 8.8/HP Dana 30-44 hybrid with 3.73s). Only had 1-2 gears and reverse, ran fine like that for 2 years.

I thought so too. My daughter told him to light em' up. He did, barely two revolutions. I yelled "pussy"

Your daughter is going to be a fine woman!

Girl i went to high school with came from a Mopar family. Her daily driver was a black interior-Panther Pink ‘73 Challenger with a built 340 and reverse manual valve body 727, 8 3/4 with 4.56 posi. She was very “unassuming” looking but knew her stuff when it came to cars. She would talk shiit like nobodies business when it came to heads up racing and she could hold her own.

They can hold a bunch of power but don’t like to “go fast”. 4L60/4L80 is the way to go
We had a couple "built " 700 and they wouldn't hold *s-word lol they did ok with a small block but they wouldn't hold a big block. 4l80

it's an early 700 with a weak 4 pinion planetary with a 454 going in front of it. I told my Ford buddy down the street in gonna scatter it in his drive way.

I got a 4L80 in my suburban!!! The 4l60 is just a lipsticked 700 the 4l65 has some more better stuff in it. I'd love to have a 6l80 but thos *b-wordes cost more than all my saws and trucks.

It all depends on what you want to do with it. The stupid low 1st gear is awesome for a crawler type set-up. But again, they don’t like to go fast. If you think a 3,000 stall and tall gears behind a big block, well, you will end up with a yard ornament.

Yeah the early ones were as bad a the A4OD. The 4l60 is ok but if its going behind a 454 than 4L80 is the way to go. Go to the pick and pull and grab one and the controller. Can get one here for $125.

I'm looking for CHEAP so I can take the tail housing off cut about 1.375- 1.5 off the out put shaft the get an adapter for $86 and it will be then same length as the 700r4 so I avoid changing anything else in the drive line.

Or you could find a clockable Dana 300 or one of the Chevy NP205 cases and be BOMB proof
