Morning boys

Mid 90s again today. Dinner with the 2 of our neighbors this evening, their husbands are deployed so we try to keep up with them. Been doing some minor handyman stuff for both as well, try to save them some money. We were lucky to have pretty awesome neighbors that helped out my wife through my deployments, so paying it forward.

That's real cool of you guys.

Blowing it is out. Did that the other day and it felt like I got maced. So some rake action is needed. Plus that's just a small portion.

I have a Stihl BG56 and use the vacuum portion to pick all that crap up. That and those damned spiny things the Sweet Gums drop, poor dog steps on them and tears her feet up. The vac chops them up pretty small and I just dump it all behind the fence.

I'll take it on a tarp then drag across the street and dump in the creek. When I have this much bloom there will be a LOAD of acorns.

Its what is done by people who take this lifestyle seriously. It is not easy on spouses and family when we are gone for training and especially hard during deployments.

I have a pretty diverse background and am a DIY guy, that and my brother is a licensed HVAC/plumber. So if I encounter anything out of my realm its easy to get some advice. The A/C quit at one house and the HVAC place was busy and couldn’t get out for 2 days. I have a small portable A/C unit I use in the garage so we set that up in her house to help keep it bearable for her and the dogs. Took a quick look at her A/C unit and found the capacitor had gone bad and shorted out a portion of the motherboard. Once I diagnosed it and got the parts it literally took me 20 minutes to fix and cost was under $100. Sure beats the $250 show-up fee, plus parts, plus labor from HVAC company.

Simple stuff like that goes a LONG way for someone already under stress. It didn’t cost me anything but a little sweat and that was quickly replaced with a couple beers. What I fail to understand is why more people don’t help out neighbors. Yes, I know some people are just tried and true asshats who truly don’t deserve some help, but not everyone is.

That's kickass!

And people today are just out for themselves it seems like these days.

Whats up Randy you got all your poop in a group

@Dub11 Moved up from the tarp to a a old bed liner to rake in. Have a rope punched through the front corners to pull it around pretty slick. I'll get a pick.

I've seen those but the trap goes up nice and small. Plus I'm in town. 15261340993108629903449992660060.jpg

The creek is between that bush and power pole. All the neighbors kick there leaves down there.

Busy day planned here. I ended up getting a local tree service in to take down the pine trees. They're here now. Pretty cool seeing how they're doing things. I'll try and get a couple pictures
Have them run one of your saws. Might drum up some more work!
