Good evening guys,
My day bucking is done, for today, wasnt funny.
To much dirt in the wood, hate to file the chain after a 1/2 tank.
Blew the clutch in my 246, had to continue with a ported 346, put a new clutch on her later. On the good side, it seems that the little 246 has pretty much the same power as the 346 has.

Rest of my evening will go to watch TV!
I'm to rough on those little saw's
And impatient lol
I run a 24 on a 372 or 288
Usually for bucking
18 on 50cc

Evening fellers. Been cleaning up a bit down at the farm. Think it's sold :(

Time to start looking for another

Some times when we loose things, it makes room for better things to come into our lives even if we don't always know what that is. Hope that applies to you.

Sharpening some of my sisters’ kitchen knives. Bought this Chef’s Choice Trizor XV, 15 deg angle sharpener about a year ago I guess...caught it on sale for $130 I believe, regular I think they run $170-185. Built in angle guides, it’s a tough ass three-stage sharpener; heavy diamond abrasive wheels in stage 1, medium abrasive diamond wheels in stage 2, stropping/polishing discs in stage 3. The stropping/polishing 3rd stage by itself is used to sharpen serrated knives, and it slicks ‘em up. I grew up on sharpening steels, wet stones, crock sticks, etc...this thing takes all the time consuming fun outta those options. I’ve got Lansky diamond sharpening kits, etc. This thing blows ‘em all away in a fraction of the time.

Once a damn good 15 deg double bevel is established; a lot of American, European, German knives from decades ago were all 20 deg, The last couple of decades they have all sharpened to 15 degs. Once that edge is established, it really only takes a rare pass or two each side in stage 2, then stage 3 stropping/polishing. In most cases, a few passes each side of stage 3 is the only thing needed...and it’s back to hair shaving and hair splitting time again. Actually Wusthof now, depending on which knives they are, have angles of 15, 14, and 11 degs. I’ve got a 20-pc set of Zwilling/Henckels Twin Signatures in a block, and several individual Wusthof’s I’ve caught on sale over time, mounted on a 24” magnetic knife bar. Nothing like a damn good sharp knives in the kitchen that retain a good razor sharp edge.

On another note...if you wanna play with the big dogs in the culinary world, buy Japanese knives. Superior forged steels, have always ground their knives to a 15 deg angle, sometimes single, sometimes double bevel, depending on knife style. But you better bring a fat ass wallet with you if you go that route. If you think Zwilling/Henckels and Wusthof get expensive depending on which line of knives you go with, the Japanese forged knives get crazy expensive...real quick.
