Yes there is a company that does the head work his dad is going to lap the valves into the seats and put it back together.
i don't know what that costs but the part's so far are reasonable gaskets valves seats and guides about a hundred haven't priced a timing chain yet it runs in their family his dad didn't change the fuel line on this 200x that was cherry lol it belonged to my late brother in law sat for about twenty years that vp racing fuel burns kinda hot View attachment 57821

Don't lap them. The valve faces are hard coated. If you you lap the coating off you will be replacing them in short order.

I will tell him the new ones are different than the xt tt 500s i had to or they would leak.

Yes sir. I have a local guy that does it for me cheap. He's real good too. Builds stock car motors and stuff.

I wish he was near me lol. That is all that is holding me up, I already put a big bore kit on it now I just need to get the head done. The guy that normally does it around here is going thru a divorce and is on the bottle hard right now.

I sent my 400ex head out to be ported and new valves years ago. I can't begin to remember what the name of the place was.

My buddy has a full machine shop but he was asked begged really to run a big commercial construction crew so i don't even ask him anymore he's to busy but we have lots of machine shops here and within driving distance they all are pretty reasonable this place specializes in topend work but i haven't done business with them just heard good things.

Nope. I quit racing when we had the boys. Traded it to a buddy of mine for a LT80 and some cash. Now all I have is a Honda Rubicon and the boys have a 300ex the lt80 and they each have a dirt bike. I keep thinking about getting a bike to ride with them.
