We've got a extreme long range course in West Texas that I need to help out with in May.

Normally we do the class in July when it's well into the 100's. We are hoping may will be a little cooler and the hogs and yotes will be moving at night for some shooting

Any chance of getting better management soon DJ?
Hard to say. They forced our last manager out on early retirement. He was a good one, when he spoke the guys listened. Right now its chaos because there's zero respect for the new guy.

Not his fault really he didn't ask for the job he was put there and we're kind of a rough bunch.

Overall I've had better and worse. The training I had to present this morn8ng went over well.

Worst part was I received my annual "performance review" to look over prior to meeting with my bosses next week. I was pleased with it except for the comments that I need to find a wa6 to be "softer " in my communication with staff. Firetruck it if they don't luke the truth they should just suck it...

I'm a maintenance mechanic in a factory. It's a great job most of the time but when you see it coming apart at the seams because of weak leadership it's frustrating. Finding it hard to bite my tongue lately and it's gonna get me in trouble.
And thats why I like what I do. I keep my production numbers up I can get away with anything as long as its not a felony.

I do, in Michigan

My best friend is in the DFW area and runs a training facility. I go down there a few times a year to help him out.

Once a year we take clients to a huge ranch in West Texas for a ELR class.

How do you hunt them?

Around here guys who hunt them are in groups of around a dozen guys. They drive around blocks after fresh snowfall looking for tracks going into a block. If they don't see tracks going out they know the dog is in that block. So they station trucks all around the block while one or two guys follow the tracks to chase it out.
The guys parked on the road watch for it to come out.
We somewhat do the same. Honk ditches, shoot timber...make noise to get them up on their feet. We use tracking dogs. Not real fast, but dang good nose and run a steady pace.

We've had like a total of 3" of snow this year so it's tough to find a fresh track.

We let the dogs run them for awhile and then he is fair game to shoot
