Is your workshop the only one around for working on C17s Jason just asking because you guys are always flatout fixing them
Robins AFB where I work, performs Depot Level maintenance, the most extensive tear-down of airplanes, on C-17 GlobeMasters, C-5 Galaxy's, C-130 Hercules, C-130 Spectre Gunships, EC-8 J-STARS, and F-15 Strike Eagles. It's a hectic flightline to say the least. A lotta chit going on all day and night. But we gotta get'em in and outta there. High pressure is an understatement but it's par for the course. It's pure aggravation at times, but it's rewarded when one gets airborne where it needs to be.

His dream was to fly an F-22 but he fell short and settled for c-130's.[emoji3]
Nothing wrong with that my friend...again I salute your brother and his service to our country. I worked A-6/E Intruders and E/A-6B Prowlers in my younger Marine Corps years. I met a many a fine Marine Aviator, Naval Aviator, Air Force pilot, etc. Met my share of Army helo pilots as well. They all share one thing in common...nuts of fuggin' steel, and they're damn fine in their job.

Yeh...a helluva difference btwn pitch variable turbo props and thrust vectoring jet engines. Your brother gets a big hand salute here. If he ever lands at Robins AFB in mid-Ga, would like to shake his hand for his service.

I know this is probably a fugged up thing to say and most won't understand...but I'd like to go back, even at 49 yrs old, and do some payback in that sandbox on the other side of the planet. I lost my share of brother Marines and other service members.

My 25 yr old Navy son and my 18 yr old college daughter are fine...I did my best to get them where they are today.

I'd roll tomorrow if I got the call for an airplane ride. Ain't nothing like hunting and payback. Is what it is...

Enjoy your night fellas.
