@beaglebriar it's a 1996 zj grand cherokee infinity package. Has a plug in back for a rear mounted disc changer.

Thanks @hoskvarna I was just looking at crutchfield radios are cheaper than thought 29.00 and 39.00 bucks looks like they have harness adapters this might be way to go. If can find one I can pull.

Does the radio control any security features?

When I put a AM head unit in my sister 05 Caravan there was some extra crap we had to get and plug in to the harness.

If you get the install kit with a deck from Crutchfield, the wiring is pretty easy. If you have any issues hit me up. It's really easy stuff.

Even the 2 bit wiring kits and head units are pretty decent easy to use. Most of that stuff use the same wire colors and *s-word.

Gunner, I've got one of those Jeeps and had issues with the radio.

Only one of the factory units will work for your car.

If you go AM there's something about the underseat amp and the CD changer IIRC.
