Good to hear no backbone problems, but he ain’t outta the woods yet. Again, keep us updated Steve.

Couldn't afford the x-rays to prove/disprove that 100% had to go with what the doctor thought and the blood test. I'm pretty sure that is the case, he just didn't give any sign up to it, just blam, which led me to believe his back went gunny bag.
I gave him his first dose of antibiotics, see where it goes from there.

I’m bringing the bass boat up...you tell me when I need to arrive for a long, extended stay! I’ll sleep in the boat! Lol

Lots of fish in this lake if you can find em. Small mount, large mouth, pickerel(walleye), pike, perch, lake trout plus more that I can't think of right now. The cottage and boat house have a total of 5 bedrooms and we got 2 outhouses. It would be a heck of a haul bringing your bass boat here but if you haul it up I'm sure we could make something fun happen.

Sadly I haven't. I love fishing but I get impatient fast if there isn't any action. The kids have been fishing off the dock everyday. My daughter caught a nice 24" pike the first day on her first cast. She hasn't caught anything other then rock bass since. Lol

Going to see what the Vet says. Not much can be done other than an expensive operation and that has to be done really soon if it's to work, if he's capable. Might be if he has functional utility's he can live in paralysis. Or I have to go dig a hole for him.

Gunther says thank you for the well wishes and he's going to be a sick pup for a while with Lyme's disease. This is what's causing his paralysis.(we believe) Hopefully he will perk up in a few days taking the medication he got today.

out of the 3 things you mention lyme's disease is probleby the one who has best prognose, hard enough to cure, but defently possible.

If it's Lyme he should improve dramatically in two or three days. Been through it with a few of my dogs.

Now I keep Doxycycline on hand at all times. You can buy it online labeled for fish and birds.

I hope for both of your sake that that's what it is. GWS Gunther....

Been through some lymes symptoms with my dog and the latest was the tumor in her eye. Just getting to the point of the surgery was as expensive as the surgery. Multiple trips to the vet when the pain would get so bad we thought it was the end. It’s been just over 3 weeks since they took her eye and at 11 years old you can hardly tell her age yet. It’s the lab breed though as she still is as crazy as the day we brought her home. Gunther migh be small but I am willing to bet he will beat this. Make him comfortable and keep him happy and recovery is in sight.
