Good evening Joe. How are you doing tonight?
I'm good, just starting my warm up lol.

Can't go full crazy right outta the gate.

You
No I'm a slacker. I'll try to remember next time I'm in the barn.
No biggie.

Was just curious what you were starting with.

How many pigs at your fair?

Good deal. Ought to be able to clean house. Lol

We had 250-300+ at our fair. Makes for a long show day... and sale
Sale day is definitely a long one but the kids make out pretty good. A few years back (before my boys started) when the gas industry was real busy they paid crazy money for fair animals.

It was one of the few decent things those rip off artists have done. Don't ever fall for their bull chit if they come knocking....

Our fair went to inly the top 20 pigs go through the sale ring. The rest is just the kids holding posters.

Still actually sell the pig. Such a pain finding and running 200+ pigs and kids through the sale. Just the pig stuff was taking 4-5 hours.

Your boys like showmanship?

Yeah my oldest usually does well in showmanship. That's what we're there for mostly.

Our boys do 90 percent of the work themselves and they can handle thier animals. Some kids show up with a top dollar hog and probably never laid eyes on it until fair day.

As long as they all end up being bacon should be all good. ;)

Good deal, that is what it's all about. You can win showmanship and still not have the best hog.

It is sad. Prolly 75% of the ones that show up at our fair had never been worked with. Then a handful of parents who think they can just buy the winners.. .

Let me know if I can help out with the project any.
