Once we hit mid 50's consistently during the day I'll switch over. The wood boiler isn't happy if it idles too much.

Sidearm is slow, but works. Haven't had any issues after a few minor tweaks

Once we hit mid 50's consistently during the day I'll switch over. The wood boiler isn't happy if it idles too much.

Drop the temperature cut off to 165 and lower the start up degrees to 8-10 degrees under the shut off temp. This keeps from boiling over and keeps the wood burning just enough not to go out.

It's a closed system indoor boiler. Totally different animal than a OWB.

It's not happy when the outside temps climb so I shut her down.

I was talking about keeping the OWB running better in warmer temps, will keep it going here as long as the nights are cold.
