I do some brazing of bronze and steel with silicone-bronze filler rod on TIG,,,, but not yet with a standard stick welder though. Impressive to read this, may be there are some possibility of accomplishing that job,,,,may be in a immanency!Reminds me of being on a fishing boat up in Alaska and the hydraulic pump bracket broke for the rudder. There was a stick welder on board and the Skipper hands me some rod and says weld it. I looked at them and they were bronze rofs for welding propellers. I said I can't weld steel with these. His reply was do you want to see land again? So I said hand me that hood. Lol I just kept pouring it in the joint ignoring whatever was coming out. After a few passes it looked very strange color between bronze and steel mixture. But it held together and we were no longer adrift at sea.

- Getting chit ready for the grill...ribeyes and bacon-wrapped asparagus...got a 12” skillet inside loaded with sliced portabellos and sliced pancetta to be sautéed, baked potatoes waiting in the big convection/toaster oven! *f-word the Govt and feed ‘em fishheads for this shutdown/furlough chit...daughter Katie and I fittin’ eat some good grub here in a bit. I’ll be on .29 cent/lb leg qtrs soon enough and ain’t nothin’ wrong with that!
