Dodge hasn't had transmission issues since they went to the Aisin AS68RC, it is every bit as good as the Allison 1000. And it all comes down to how well it is maintained. My friend John had three 12 Valves with the five speed manual that he put over a million miles on each and he never had to do any major repairs to the engines or transmissions. Heck, on his last one, a 1997 3500 super heavy it still had it's original clutch until 1,000,000 and then the release bearing pushed through the clutch fingers lol.

i owned one dodge truck and put two transmissions in it. it was a 5spd it would either blow reverse or 1st gear out or get hung up in gear.
i wont own another if a 2500 dodge gas can't hold up pulling wagons of tobacco when grandpa's f150 did it for 20 years with out a hiccup.
but there is good and bad in all vehicles.
