Afternoon all...

Did a whole lot of shopping today. What else are you going to to when it's raining and 52degrees outside?

I am proud to say that other than Costco every purchase we made today was with a locally owned and operated business. Being someone that works for the same I was proud to spend some if my money in these stores as the owners of both have/ do spend money in mine.

Picked out the new bed, will get it delivered on Thursday. Wife turns to me and says "We even have a long weekend coning up to break it in..." Also bought Elliott his first two wheeler. Still with training wheels for no but hopefully bu the end of summer...

I must have missed it but where was the trolling going on last night? @Magnumitis ?

Also noticed that @exSW was the OP of this thread today, has anyone seen him around lately?

Robins AFB here in Warner Robins, Ga is looking to hire an ass load of DoD, civil service aircraft electricians to work C-17's, C-5's, C-130's, F-15's. To be honest with ya, if you have prior active duty service and with 'veterans preference', you're guaranteed a job...I don't care if you can't even spell 'electrician' nor 'airplane', nor ever touched a multi-meter. Work Leads (WL) and Work Supervisors (WS) will show you how it's done, as well as many classes you'll attend here on base. Damn good money and federal govt retirement. Federal employee health insurance, dental, vision is crazy good too with all the main providers and carriers. Can not beat the accrual of annual and sick leave as well per pay period.

Once you get your foot in the door with DoD govt civil service, you're in like Flynn. You can put in for any job you want and transfer, etc, etc if you qualify. And ya ain't gonna beat the govt TSP (Thrift Savings Plan) for retirement.

Anyone interested in a career change...let me know and I'll help ya with the mile long red tape paperwork deal. And don't worry about a place to stay if you wanna do it, until you get on your feet. I gotta 3-BR, 2-BA, fireplace home, big shop in the backyard...and I live by meself, so ya ain't imposing on me one bit.

And yeh, you get the bonus of eating grilled and smoked groceries damn near every wknd, and the bass boat on some fine bass, bream, crappie,...and we'll see how good your deer hunting and wild hog killin' skills are as well. We'll do some fine arrowhead hunting to boot.

Managed to get a little seat time on the Mighty Crapsman and mowed for a couple hours, started looking crapilly out so I gave 'er up, sure enough as I type this it started pouring. Only managed 58F today, flannel shirt weather.
