Son Jared sent me a handful of pics a little while ago. They stopped and docked in Pearl Harbor for a few days of R&R. They leave Pearl Harbor this afternoon their time, 6 days to hit homeport in San Diego. He toured the entire Pearl Harbor Museum, definitely a once in a lifetime, bucket list deal, at least for me anyhow. First pic he's standing on the bow of the USS Bowfin. In the second pic you can see his home and ride back to San Diego...the Carl Vinson aircraft carrier.

It's been a long 6 plus months, we've communicated less than a dozen times throughout this...sometimes weeks would go by while they were at sea before hearing from him. He's looking at coming home on leave to Ga either the first half of July or the second half.

Words can't describe how PROUD this ol' Jarhead *f-worder is of that young man!!
