Feller's I got a question to whomever wants to answer it. When sharpening a customer chain do you charge one set price,or per tooth,or the amount of time spent to get it ready to cut? Just wondering, iv'e always charged $10 regardless of size tooth, no. of teeth or condition, am I to cheap or is that a fair charge? Thanks.

I charge $6 a chain, generally I never see anything that's more than 20" here. If I need to take the chain off the saw I charge them $10

The one thing that shocks me is that most people bring me their whole saw because they have no idea how to take the chain off the thing.

Surprisingly I haven't seen a straight gassed saws come through my shop. I pressure and vac test everything that goes on the bench. I generally always find a air leak.

Maybe some of these homeowner poulans or macs have been straight gassed. I have yet to rebuild one of those. By the time I tell a customer what it would cost them to put a new top end on one of those saws they generally will go out and buy a new one.

I wonder how many have a leak out of the box?
