One of the bird feeders was broken the other day. This morning there is a raccoon in the backyard trap. Off for a relocation to a county park.
There is an interesting debate going on locally. We have a problem with ground squirrels (Richardson's Ground Squirrel to be exact) that are causing problems in all the sports fields. The city has been trying to control the population by using CO2 gas piped in to the dens but it hasn't been super effective. This years they are going to try Sulfur Gas.

There was a bit of an uproar and people wanted to know why they didn't just trap and relocate and the experts seem to agree that relocating to a new area is equivalent to a death sentence as they are away from their known area and any potential food caches they might have. They don't really like the gassing idea but suggest that capture and then euthanized.

I am not going to weigh in on what is right but thought the relocation argument was interesting.

Also, if they get relocated into an area with other squirrels, the indigenous squirrels will kill them, they don't like outsiders.

3 months ago my uncle was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer. He passed away last night in his sleep.
My condolences to you, your family, and your uncle's family.
With the diagnosis your uncle had, passing away in his sleep may be a small relief for those closest to him.

Good afternoon folks,
my sleep was so-so but my ass held tight through the night, well, on the morning.

I went to the gym later in the day, started hard, too hard, but managed just fine on the spin bike. I'm almost 60 with a previous heart attack and lots of meds, and not-quite-perfect lungs, today's results were avg 129bpm peak 148bpm, 639kcal.

My wife got dinner from cracker barrel for our uncles family after work. I met her there and visited with them for a while. They seemed to be doing fairly well. His poor dog that he has had for probably 12 years just seemed so sad. He just kept pacing through the house going room to room trying to find him.

Rebuilt 550 generator to fit 346, super easy since 550 is a good model to steal from, longest cord I know of. Left to do: shrink tube.
