I've seen on Youtube that the Stihl guys cut off the end of the top cover and install an air filter that reaches just to the end of the chainsaw.
I'd say you're off to a good start now.

That's usually what happens when they won't start and you get pi**Ed and throw them

Run it. Just be sure to sand the bevels around the port edges well with the tip of your finger. Use 220 grit for that, then use scotchbrite again. That transfer gets stuck on the edge, and marks up the piston if not removed.

Where did you go to shoot 1000yds? I know the DOE has a range near me, but I don't have a contact to shoot there.

ORSA in Oak Ridge. I think Windrock has a new range as well. I was a member at ORSA back when I shot IDPA and long range shoots. I moved here and it was too much of a drive to keep up the membership. I used to live 15 minutes from it.

I just replaced a wiring harness on a 362. Only had a little nick in one wire, but it ran like crap until I replaced it. I believe it had been crushed between the recoil and the case.
