Those are definitely some of the reasons. There was a big push years ago against big tobacco. I would like to see the same thing against the soft drink industry. High fructose corn syrup is so bad for people. No offense to farmers, but growing all that corn for syrup and ethanol, when we could be growing good food instead. Then we can go after the pharmaceutical industry, then TV!

Also, my mom, who’s a retired nurse and never smoked a cigarette in her life, wears a nicotine patch. She’s done a ton of research on the subject and the health benefits for outweigh the side effects. There’s way more to it than even what I understand, but all I know is that they’ve been lying to the public about it, to keep us sick and dependent.
