I never put much thought into it until today, Tim. A metal detector would probably work but I don’t think it would differentiate between types of metal.
I’d probably wave around a pin pointer. It would give you a general location so you could avoid any metal explosive or otherwise.

Morning Folks! Knocking down some olives today. High-stumping for grafting. This guy wants to change to a more productive variety. The fella that was grafting told me to be careful cutting these 100+ year old trees, as during the German occupation the Nazis hid grenades inside hollow olive trees. Lol. That adds a whole other layer of difficulty to the job….

Once the feller grafts another variety on them stumps how long until it's productive again
