So where did the wire shielding coating get chewed up. So much of this happening since oil based wire jackets have been replaced with bio-degradable shiz.
Issue isn't new. But the green folks take a long time to learn after many repeated troubling issues.

These are notorious for chaffed wiring, pinched wiring, etc.
But...
The cam rpm is always half of crank rpm, which is normal. It never spikes or drops out.
If it was mechanically out of time it should set the DTC immediately and constantly.
As of now I'm thinking the ECM shìt the bed.

Do Snap-On and Matco make small thermonuclear devices?

With easy weekly payments

I'll ask.

The sales guys here get their rainbow bright panties all moist over these 3.0 diesels.
I wouldn't trade a bucket of pasteurized panther piss for one.

Evening slacker of ope. Just got home from pt. Got new exercises again but dropped one out. Range of motion went from 95 to 115 in a week. Guess I did my part at home. She thinks I’ll be pushing 130 next week. Haven’t used a crutch since Tuesday morning and the brace has been off since Monday. Yes Dallas I’ll save you the typing, back on your knees in no time.

I'd believe that in a heartbeat. That's what happened to the TCM in my 2019. Totally lost communication . . . and *s-word the bed . . .

Quite Possibly .
And Ed had the pleasure of doing the diagnostics.

Or the sensor is failing, one or the other. Are there magnets or does it just detect ferrous points. Like hall effect.
