I’ll see if I can find one, none of the news releases had more than a name.

Is this something I should be concerned about with Tamara’s Trailblazer? It has spent one winter outdoors already…

I don't think so Gary. That weird little 3 cylinder is the only engine I have yet to see freeze up.

"In the case of those driving GM vehicles with a small turbocharged engine, this means reduced engine performance in winter conditions.
According to GM TechLink, the intercooler (or charge air cooler or CAC as it is also known) of these vehicles will ice over when the temperatures fall below 0 degrees Fahrenheit (minus 18 degrees Celsius). This means the airflow to the engine cylinders is restricted, resulting in power loss or throttle hesitation. In addition, this condition will trigger a series of diagnostic trouble codes related to intake air pressure, engine underboost, engine overboost, turbocharger boost sensor, engine misfire, and barometric pressure sensor.
Fortunately, the conditions detailed above will only occur in the first 10 to 15 minutes after a cold start and will diminish after driving for some time. The intercooler icing is more likely to appear in vehicles with smaller engine displacements. These include 2018-2022 Chevrolet Equinox and GMC Terrain models equipped with the 1.5-liter engine (LYX), 2020-2022 Buick Encore GX, and 2021-2022 Chevrolet Trailblazer models equipped with the 1.2-liter engine (LIH) or 1.3-liter engine (L3T) and 2016-2019 Chevrolet Cruze models equipped with the 1.4-liter engine (LE2).
Although the problem should go away as the engine warms up, there are situations when this does not happen. In that case, the ice may build up on other components too, causing unpredictable behavior or even damage if left unchecked. According to GM TechLink, in the case of some 1.3-liter and 1.3-liter, this could lead to an increase in crankcase pressure, creating potential oil leaks at seals and gaskets.
In addition, some 1.4-liter and 1.5-liter engines affected by intercooler icing may gather frozen oil/water contaminants in the turbocharger wastegate regulator solenoid valve. If that’s the case, the solenoid valve should be cleaned or replaced. A new ECM is also available to flash at dealer's service centers, enabling new transmission patterns in cold weather conditions. "

I 100% disagree with the "these conditions only happen in the first 10 to 15 minutes" statement.
I have had plenty of them come in where the people were traveling and had been on the road substantially longer

Weirdest thing Toenail is I read the article, only to see it was written by a guy I used to play soccer with. Small world.
It's funny how many times I randomly run into someone that grew up with, worked with, went to school with, etc. some member of my family. That small world statement gets used a lot it seems like. Nephew was seeing a girl that ended up being the daughter of someone I graduated school with. She married and moved away and somehow her daughter ended up working for a dairy operation next door to my parents. People that run the dairy are actually New Zelanders. Can't remember the farm managers name, I'll have to ask my dad later.

Good morning men. 10 degrees American this morning going to 20 later. Then spring comes back. They are saying 60's by Thursday. A short, brutal winter by TN standards. Slept in like the slacker I am!

I have a pile of parts for the diesel that got filled with Def sitting at the Fed-ex facility in Nashville. No eta as to when they will continue on their way.
Last time I ordered parts for the same thing, the day after is when they went on strike. At least this time it's not stuck on one of my hoists.

We haven't had mail or any deliveries all week. Our road here have not been touched by the county. We are on the southern most tip of the county, so we understand. Wife is waiting for some things she ordered. Fortunately all things that are not time sensitive.

I've gotten my mail, and UPS daily since it snowed. The county sent a plow truck out here too. I gave the UPS driver my cell phone number years ago, and I've been meeting him at the top of the hill.

Brisk here this morning.

Neighbors had some stuff stolen out of an out building a long time ago. Cops didn't even know we were in their county. Said they had never been down here. We are remote for the county highway department. They are 30 minutes away when it is nice out and they head straight here. So we don't expect them to show for snow. Good thing too. Lol

It's interesting how different weather is handled in certain areas.
In the south they freak when it gets below 35 degrees. Up here, we all melt at 96 degrees.
A bit of snow puts everything at a stop down south, here it's put it in 4wd and out west it's just chain up bishes.

I lived in the North, and we had snow tires and didn't care how much snow came down. The show must go on, so to speak. These storms in the south happen too infrequently to invest in snow equipment. So they don't. Of course our trucks also don't rust away either.

I’d move way north where they’re not afraid of snow.
