I thought that I was going to lose a little holiday pay for the first time in 26 years, but they are changing payroll systems and it magically coded me as using PTO that I hadn't earned yet for the first work day of '24. So things are good. I think '24 might be my year. How is the slackmaster doing?
I’m ok coffee time
You know he’s wearing them right?
lol he modeling again?

Grocery shopping started off badly

But they had fresh pork belly which I roasted today so not a totally wasted trip
IMG_4431.jpeg

My daughter said even Costco was out of eggs so I stopped at the locally owned market chain and they had plenty

Not sure if this is the beginning of a repeat of the egg shortage of a year or two ago

It’s even weirder because Costco is out yet the local market is stocked up on Kirkland eggs

They are almost $5 per dozen here right now. Back in August-Sept they were $1.50 to 1.75 a dozen.

I have not asked why the prices have jumped so damn much.

I'm sorry, what was that address and security system code again?

I seem to have misplaced it...

If you were in the neighborhood I’d gladly stock you up.
Lets see, 3,200 miles divided by the square root of the cost of an Imperial Gallon of gas times the number of bags of sunflower seeds and bottles of ginger ale equals...????

Sorry, that doesn't pencil out

I had one barred rock that never really stopped laying, a couple molted. I had most of my stock wiped out over the holidays. Then the warm weather or solstice has them picking back up. Getting randomly 1 to 4 a day. The cold next week should shut them back off but I have nearly two dozen in the fridge now. I only have five hens.

We have six and a rooster at the moment. I’ve said I wouldn’t have another rooster but the kid wanted to keep him. He’s a real dick but he keeps them bishes in line.
