I'm good thanks Michael. Mostly glad I didn't have to climb out a window to shovel a meter of snow off the front porch, just so I could open the front door to look at the meter plus deep snow wall around my porch I just created.

You?
I am not bad at all, thank you, just trying to enjoy my coffee and recover from the shock of opening an email and seeing my natural gas bill for the month

I'm not a plumber but I've worked with pex and I like this style. I like them for automotive applications too on stuff that doesn't have to come back apart. Probably not an approved usage but I've had no failures or regrets as a result of using them.

Who's the resident plumber in here?

Why are there two different kinds of Pex clamps?

Crimp vs pinch clamps is one better then the other?

The expansion style is only good for pex a pipe. You can use either crimp style or pinch style on oex a and b. The crimp or pinch can be an issue as you can’t always get the tool in tight spots. I prefer the expansion. Either style will work for you application. I don’t personally care for the pinch but that is me. You could do what every other homeowner does and just shark bite that bish.

When you steered me through my water softener replacement, I thought "no fùcking way these will work".
But, they worked great.

You?

So I should of just stayed in the house until spring thaw? No firewood left inside, no eggs & bread, and no ciggys?

Thanks, I know enough to know shark bites are trash. Maybe in a pinch or tight spot to get ya by as a bandaid, but not for long term use.

Makes sense what you said, crimp vs pinch, 2nd plumber used both. Tight areas have one style, other wide open places have the other.

Thanks for the guidance.

Oetiker?
My knipexs for those pinch on the end and the side of the jaws to give two attack options.
