Just looked that up, glad you chose not to do the deed. I know everyone has their bad times when you think, at that moment, that what's the point. Clearly you chose to continue, which is what I wish everyone does. I also understand people who can't. We all have a responsibility to watch out for others, and talk them down off that ledge when necessary. Making light of others when they think there is no way to continue is bad form. Most don't understand despair. There are many levels of despair, and unfortunately many don't come back from the edge.

Yeah, I really don't like sharing crap from my past (like Larry said keep the cards close to the vest) I've tried it before also.

While that works, sometimes it's feel good to let a few demons out of the closest. I lay awake most nights and stare at the sky if I'm outside, or the ceiling if in my house, and I wondering why some of this *s-word went down? What's the purpose, eat, drink, work your ass off, just to pay tax, then die?

I really hate talking about my life and the past, I'm sure I played a role in some of the crap that fell on me. But you really blew my skirt up with that post, even thou I am sure you were joking around and being sarcastic, and while you didn't say anything about suicide, show a bit of compassion in a post once & while, if someone post some long ass drawn out heart & feelings post. Maybe just maybe it helped them to get that crap off of their chest for a minute. You never know what demons someone on the other side of the screen might be dealing with.

I'm all for sarcasm, smart ass, light winded humor, etc, if I typed out some long winded post maybe there was reason.

We all have demons. Thanks for sharing, makes other know they are not alone. You may have saved someone tonight that just stumbled onto your post, realized they weren't the only one, and made it through another day. We all have a purpose, maybe even a special purpose. Thing is, you may never know. I am of the mind that I have been guided all along the way. The decisions I have made, the places I have been placed, the people I have met, randomly, and have influenced positively. I see intervention where other see coincidence. Happens all too frequently to be chance. We could debate the how to no end. Point being, I feel we are all put here to do something, that helps others get through this finite life. We all bring something to the table, whether as mentors, or just casual encounters at the right time. I stopped asking why a long time ago, and just accept a guiding hand steering my ship.

The material chit we deal with isn't what makes us rich, it is the people in our lives that do. All that stuff will be wasted when we are gone.

I’m very excited that Canada just launched a nationwide 988 service today. While I’ve never needed it my oldest attempted a couple times before the age of 13. Being the parent in that situation has certainly shaped my feelings about mental health issues.

This week marks 6 years since he was voted one of the top 150 difference makers in mental health in Canada. He learned a has been sharing his story and helping others ever since.
