I agree, I honestly believe that our societies would be more civil if we were taught weapon use and safety in middle school and by 16 were not only allowed to carry but expected too. If everyone is trained and carrying it is unlikely that anyone is going to stir anything up as they know they will be immediately dealt with.
When I was in school we had rifle teams and marksmen competitions. Can you imagine handing a loaded gun to some of the morons that you see in a high school setting these days? It's not that guns have changed....but people sure have.

I too learned to target shoot and compete at a young age, took my first firearm safety course at 12. You are probably right that the current education system couldn't handle it but I do think it would overall be better if it could. Respect of and proper handling of firearms would reduce the number of morons doing moronic things. Either they just wouldn't or they would be dead the first time they did.

I'm pretty close with one of the local radio hosts, he was reading the forecast for tonight/tomorrow in a very nonchalant manner and I had to text him that he was an a$$hole. -29C/-17f with the windchill, winds out of the north gusting 20 to 35MPH.

And as the snow geese fly ya are not that far north from here. I'll deal with the 8-12 hours of snow rather than double digits below.

I'm the opposite, the cold is easier to handle than more snow. I had to get one of the neighbours to come plow my drive yesterday from the high winds and drifting we had the day before. I couldn't imagine what it would have been like if there had actually been any fresh in that mess.

I've got a couple of ways to take care of the snow, an older (36yr. old) Bolens 826 and this Bercomac 48" northeaster on the front of the JD garden tractor.
Im just sayin that I'm ready for the next season , the one without the other state bird (aka mosquitos)

My HS parking lot had Lotso trucks with guns hanging in the back window. Lol
We used to work on guns in shop class.
Refinish stocks, mount scopes, ect.
School let out every year for the first week of Deer season.

Exactly. Also why I introduce my kids at a very early age what firearms are. Take the mystery out of them, and the kids leave them alone.
This exactly. My kids have held and shot my guns so there is no curiosity. We learned at a real young age as well.

My Dad was in the Marines and retired as a Michigan State Trooper so guns were a household item. Me and my brothers took our hunters safety course and got our small game license at 12. Dad bought us all a single shot .410 to hunter with.

My brother is a county sheriff and my youngest brother is still in the Marines. I also have a friend that is a cop so with all them i train and shoot a lot. I tried the State Trooper thing right outta high school but it wasn’t for me.

The way the world is today i’m glad i took a different career path.

People used to raise their children. Now they let the Xbox and the iPhone raise them.
