I'll never buy a GM product.
Probably never buy another vehicle made after 1996 TBH.
Automotive engineers that dreamed that *s-wordt up shouldnt be given praise. They should be given "country-style arse BEATINGS", and NEVER let back into the industry.
There have always been plenty of people who either lacked the specific skills, or the desire to repair their own vehicle.
Thats why people like you who have both of those qualities have a career.
There was absolutely no need for them to make things that Got-Damn hard for you!

To be fair, they all are. Some just don't need to be bailed out every 40 years.GM products are cost engineered to the penny for manufacturing. Everything else is secondary. Including lives.

GM slammed at hearing for failing to address 57-cent defect linked to deaths
Members of Congress tore into GM management during a heated Capitol Hill hearing probing fatal car wrecks linked to a defective part, claiming people died because the auto giant failed to fix what amounted to a 57-cent problem.www.foxnews.com
Agreed. To be fair, they all are. Some just don't need to be bailed out every 40 years.
I guess Ford has better lawyers and Fiat/Chrysler is now an import brand, and is "diplomatically immune" to most litigation. To be fair, they all are. Some just don't need to be bailed out every 40 years.
