That's pretty amazing - taxes here on my .2 acre plot and 3-bedroom house - $2,665.00.

My old 1300 sq ft, 3 bed, 1 bath, 1/4 acre was 4k. Now my 2600 ft house, outbuildings, barn and 21 acres is $458. Oh, no state income tax either. What do those mfers do wif all the money?

I would imagine counties “up north” here are more likely to need/spend more money for snow removal, etc. It costs a small fortune for the salt, plows, maintenance, and all the man hours to keep the roads open 4-5 months out of the year..

That's what does us in, plus there is a school funding component to it as well.

im lumped in with all the big houses around cystal lake. if i lived another 1/4 mile south my taxes would prob be cut almost in half.
