This 86 is a factory air cab too. So we need to save the cab if possible. The floor is pretty rough. Inner rockers too.....and some inner structure in the cab corners. The marker lights leaked badly, so the roof of the cab is rusty as hell. Luckily, we have a good junkyard nearby with a bunch of Bullnose Ferds.
I was going to say the other night, my dad had a white 1986 f350 with a street sweeper on the rear half, back when I was a kid.
Dad had accounts to sweep parking lots. Strip malls, large office complex's, factory parking lots, etc. He almost never had time to do the accounts thou, his day job kept him busy / gone a lot.
Usually 3 of us kids went and did the jobs with the f350. Two kids on backpack blowers hitting the sidewalks, and other areas the truck would not get to, and one of us behind the wheel of the sweeper truck.
What could go wrong with 3 kids, 16 & under, working alone, unattended. In the middle of the night, after business hours.
We had tons of fun just getting out of the house, until the night I drove the f350 into a lake in the middle of the Kmart parking lot. We had a lot of rain that week.
I thought if I could clear the drain in the middle of the parking lot from whatever was blocking it, it might start draining.
The water was deeper then I thought and it killed the f350, water was coming into the cab floors, and the truck would not restart.
A police car came cruising through the lot before we had a chance to walk to a pay phone and call mom for help.
I remember my sister kept saying dad is going to kill you....
What a night that was.
