Chainsaws are dumb!
Now I'm working on a boat motor.
Twice the dumbness in this ones case.
Finally dug through the pile of hoses and crap and found a couple carburetors.View attachment 325886

In case anyone cares, VRO stands for
Very
Risky
Oiling.
Nope. Not on my watch.
Thankfully, whoever had it before me had disconnected it some time ago.
I'm putting an old style fuel pump on. It still has the place on the block for it.
The top carb wasnt too bad.
Bottom one seems to have been filled with mollases.

Got the lower unit off.
No pics, but it will get a complete water pump, along with new gearcase seals.
Should be a good little unit when I get done.
Gotta hide my money somewhere.break out another thousand lol

Bet it costs less to fix than your average trip to the JD dealer slacker.break out another thousand lol
40.How many lack of horsepower?
40.
Our Cajun friend says a set of 50 HP carbs is a bolt on, and easy upgrade.
Same block, bore and stroke.
Bigger venturi and larger jetting on carbs were the only difference in those.
These particular carbs have no mixture adjustment needles.
Just a fixed air mix jet. Not sure how one synchronises the upper and lower carbs, other than changing orifice sizes in the Jets.
lol but I can make more money with working the tractor and resale is still better than a toy boat lolBet it costs less to fix than your average trip to the JD dealer slacker.
Dont matter, if it floats, got tires, tracks, or teats, its ALL gonna cost you.![]()
