Very cool Sean! Yew was very highly prized in Medieval times for making longbows for archery. You were probably aware of that though.

Yes, I know of a few people who are looking for the perfect branch to make a longbow.
I was also told it was used to store wine in. Until I the alcohol absorbed the toxins and killed a few people when they drunk the wine..but it’s history and the truth maybe a bit clouded.
here’s a ref to the info. However the heartwood has less toxins then the bark or the leaves

That’s one of the trees that can’t quite make it here. If you drop down several hundred feet in elevation the olives start though. You can drive 15 minutes in any direction and totally change environment.

You should try some Greek olive oil. Like, straight from the farmer...

Mornins'. Went back to the newtome Mexican joint last night. Had an OK garlic shrimp deal. Got the burrito that brought me back there to go for lunch today.

I wish I could get it straight from a farmer, but my climate dictates I have to buy in a store. I like the oil almost as much as the olives, then there is the feta, making myself hungry now. I got to get some breakfast, at least I have fresh eggs.
