I knew Mac's had more than their own share of gravity, but didn't realise it extended to items just in their locale.

Robert P Mcculloch died in 1977.
Mac was bought by B&D around the same time.
My 1010 Super and PM700 are both Black and Decker owned saws.
So was the SP40 you sent me.
The McCinderblock saws were conceived back in the Mcculloch days.
An attempt to keep up with the Stihls/Husqvarnas/Jonsereds of that time.
They still have a 10 series cylinder.
They are unwieldy, but still solid saws, and will run and cut MUCH better than the Eurotrash that was out at the time.
Didnt have a problem with ignitions getting hot and frying like the others did. Even solved the problem with fuel boiling and overheating like the 10 series would.
Black and Decker really paved the way for Stihl and Husky, just due to their greed and lack of foresight.
They just wanted all the money they could get As soon as they could get it.
Simple as that.

Yah, i took down a Red Oak in front of the house today. Just sitting that 1010S down on the bench to sharpen the chain caused MOST of the leaves to fall off(and go right into the gutters)

I have 2 610's. My Dad bought them new. They live on a shelf in my garage.

Just for science projects an stuffs, go shake the old mix out of one of those 610s and put some fresh mix at 40:1in it.
Bet it takes about 12 pulls to get it to bark, and another 1 or 2 to wake up.
I'll put 20 bucks on it that at least one of em still runs and oils.
