Well, today did not go as hoped, nor as dreaded. After a previous external search failed they told us they hired an external candidate. He will get the chance to settle in and decide on his own management structure.

Completed an Indeed profile and will start sending out some resumes on the weekend.

Lots of opportunity for someone who actually knows what they are doing, and is willing to apply it.
Make the cork soakers pay by hitting them where it hurts. The only place they feel pain is in their bank accounts.
Indeed boy has no clue how that company is structured, and probably doesnt have the experience to figure it out on short notice.
Go take a position thats fairly stable, if not so well paying, with a company you "feel right" about joining.
That may be enough, and if not, id be willing to bet your old company will be calling you soon enough.

Molokai, it is the 5th largest island but is still rural and agriculture oriented with almost zero "touristy" stuff

6,500 population

Not even 1 traffic light and no building over 3 stories tall

Downside is shopping is not cheap and choices are limited

The deer population is sitting at around 50,000 to 70,000 and our development has 5,500 acres above us that is solely for the homeowners use for hunting and hiking
