That was a one time deal.

Evenin' men. Productive day in a non mainstream kind of way. After damn near a month straight of work I needed to blow off steam. So I headed to the woods. Found some mushrooms. A lot of mushrooms. Most would kill you. I won't post all of the pics except for the edible ones I'd never found. Corals.View attachment 307832 View attachment 307833

I also dug some ramps. I've never gotten them in the fall. Bulbs are bigger. Just got enough for supper.View attachment 307834
Now the failure. I saw protein running around the woods all day. Whitetail, grouse, squirrel. But none are in season. So I went to @P.M.P. local grocery and picked up a nice thick ribeye. I need to re-up my hickory pile for cooking up here. Got the onions and mushrooms going in some butter.View attachment 307835

Finished product after resting. Seems a shame to put it on a paper plate but dishes are done in the river here so I limit them.View attachment 307836
Have a good night fellas.
Cooking skills like that are gonna make you a great wife to somebody in the future. LOL

I don't drink mate.

I know Coral mushrooms are edible but haven't had them despite them being all over in the pines out back. I was told they need to be white to be safe but I see you eating the brown too. I was told brown were spoiled. Guess not.

Looks fantastic by the way.
Thanks. Yah my mushroom guy said get the white ones. I couldn't find them when I went back. I tasted along the way and the browner they were the more bitter. But they were all good.

Did some cooking on my new fancy smoker. A full slab of ribs, and a slab that I cut up before dry brining and rub. Made an apple maple glaze with a touch of hot sauce in it.
Gave away half a slab to one neighbor, and traded another half for some homemade chocolate cake with another neighbor.

:encama:

lol are you proposing ?
I kinda got that too. I just called him handsome yesterday so....

I'm one redhead over the limit as we speak. So not proposing
Zero sense of adventure...

A redhead is something I've yet to tangle with. It's on my list though.

My ass it is, laying with your back on the concrete floor with no room to move while getting weld spatter dripped on you is not the same...

I'm not good at overhead welding. So with a mig, I do it a spot at a time, and stack em up. Looks great when done.....and doesn't fill the end of the stinger with slag.

So a Jeep doesn't even have room for a Jerry Can and therefore needs a carry-all tray hanging off its ass?
Oh, theres room in there, especially since we leave the back seat out.
She tried it once, but the fumes were pretty bad. Also not a good idea to have those inside, in case of an accident.
Just spill it outside and let it catch fire AFTER she gets out.:D

Can relate. When I had that POS 4Runner I added a mesh box to my trailer drawbar for that exact reason. 3 dirt bikes meant we might be toting 60 litres (15gal ?) of mix at times.

Had the last Brew Gentlemen General Braddock's that @PA Dan got me with supper. That oughta keep you busy on lougle for a minute.

I dont either.
Only on days that end in Y.;)

Correct slack master, but this one is a 2 door. Not a lot of room for fugg trophies.
It also still has a straight front axle.
And air conditioning.:)
The new real Jeep still does too. Coil sprung solids front and rear since 97. The ride quality was excellent compared to the old leaf set up. Much better articulation too.
