I had the exact same experience Steve, I'll tag you into the build thread so you can see. Spent a huge amount of time and a considerable amount of money on the build, and although in my case I did use the proper etch primer (which stuck fine) the Valspar enamel I used was the problem. It was not at all fuel resistant (bubbled and fell off when the fuel vent leaked) and chipped very easily (like when the starter handle hits the recoil on retracting). The sad thing is being a powerful ported 92cc saw, I'm not trusting putting the main bearings back in it after beating on them to remove the crank, even though they have only done an hour or two of work, and believe me Stihl like charging for their (plastic cage) main bearings! Have to do the seals and gaskets too...

That's a bummer bud. I found out today the yellow is fuel resistant. At least while its on there. The paint is like a the hard shell on an M&M candy. Breaks off just like that.

They did patch panels from flat sheet. Didn't consider that the weatherstripping didn't have any groove to set in after their "fix".

you made the right choice. Mike will make it look great and now you’ll have a funny story to tell about it. Sucks short term but will be gooder in the long run.

I didn't really care if the floor, or even a cab corner was a little rusty. It is far far from a minty truck. But I do need the damn weatherstripping. LOL

Anything like that here and you're pretty much "let's go find a donor vehicle without a rusty part right where they all rust due to poor design. Yeah right."
