Yeah neighbor has an 1986 Ford 6.9 manual 4x4 he bought new
Dad's next door neighbor bought one new. Automatic though.:(
Was an absolute dog til about 55 mph, then it actually TRIED to respond to skinny pedal tromping.
He still had it up til a year or so ago.
I hated driving that thing back when I was a kid.

Yes, I did grab a short clip, but I couldn’t post it on here.
I found out just how computer illiterate I have become while trying to post the video below:

It is really short, but it does give you an idea of how wonderful the four Wright turbocharged radial engines sound in concert.

7.3 is quite the animal. Ran a power skiff fishing in Alaska that had one in it. If you needed the power it could be run up to 5,000 RPM for a spell.
I guess the reason why those to a degree, and just about every 7.3 IDI are still running today is because they didn't rev enough to destroy themselves.
Ive watched Peg on Zip Ties n Bias plies do HORRIBLE things to an IDI, and it still woke back up the next time he double fisted ether into it through the dryer duct hose he snaked into what was left of the cab.
Nasty fuel full of water. No coolant. Radiator bashed to chit. Rust and crud in the fuel filters. No air filter.

Sweet!
Imagine a lot of people learned to fear that sound, because they knew there were a lot louder noises coming with it.

Humid, but we didn't have much sun today.
Reported 78mph winds just north of me 8 miles or so.

Storm is breaking up a bit now, tornado warning expires here in a few minutes.

That sounds like a spring day in Kansas. Except we'd get hail and a weather man busting a nut talking about tornados.
