I see a few small fields full of them here. I'd say they are using them to attract bees to better pollinate the nearby crops.
That patch the deer decimated will become self seeding wild flowers. Gotta research hardy, drought resist type so watering that area isn't much of a concern as its over a 100 yards from our nearest water source and I'd rather not have a hydrant trenched in out there.

I set them all on 36" rows with a 20" tiller. That way when the plants mature there is enough room I don't damage the roots.
I have a mantis 9" tiller and a 60" King kutter on my Kubota. Its new. It fuggin leaks. I'm irritated. Lol. My Earth way planter, i think, maxes out at 24" rows if using the marking feature. I'll check.

Planting fields of native wild flowes helps out native bees. Cutting them all down for our yards and city building has taken a lot of their food source. I'm not preaching. Not on a soap box. Just answering. Not a tree hugging eco Nazi either but we can do something to offset other activities we practice that are damaging.
Not a tree hugging nazi either. Maybe just a tree hugging biker redneck idiot?77648.jpeg

63 impala 4 door. White with a red interior. Was the car my dad sold to pay for wedding to my mom. He spent the rest of his life trying unsuccessfully to find it and buy it back.

My 12yo daughter had a formal dance this week just gone. Her date is a grandson of friends of ours. Little bugger turns up and is polite and respectful, and gets his grandad to drive them to the dance in a 56 F100....
Lynching on hold.

I see folks growing *s-word_loads of sunflowers......and I wonder why. So.....why?

Everything Eggy Steve said is the reason I plant them. My neighbor has bees so I feel its a neighborly thing to do.

I too do things not really eco responsible so hopefully planting a good garden for the pollenators will help offset that.
