Speaking of tractors, idk if this is the case with all newer large farm tractors but I saw an article about John deere and the bs farmers are going through with all the electronic crap. I did a little more reading and John deere sure doesn't have much of a fan club anymore.

Yep, these old CAT engines are ridiculously overbuilt. Wicked heavy crank (5 bearing), rods, and pistons, stroke much longer than bore diameter and max RPM of 1500.

Torque baby [emoji106]
Engine lasts longer at lower rpm like that

8159hrs on my bobcat
Change oil 200hrs or less doesn’t use any between changes
No emission chit [emoji106]

Dont have any emissions on my 2005 Gehl either. Its got the Yanmar engine. Getting close to 5000 hrs. Same thing. Change oil and filters every 200, except I'm overdue on the Fuel filter. They gave me the wrong one last time.

So I heard that the GM lawyers in the 2.4 oil burning lawsuit are trying to say that the cars were built correctly it was just a bad design so the warranty doesn't covero_O
I wouldn't buy a new any manufacturer vehicle these days. All junk and these manufacturers whether its cars, trucks, power tools, blow up dolls, etc... all find a way to fukk you out of warranties. When my 00 silverado dies, I'm either bringing my 88 chev k2500 into full time service or building another old body chevy. Anymore, I don't care about warranties or anybody's bullshitt promises.

Apparently, I'm hard of hearing.:D
Always wanted to lift this or modify that. Never had the money, or maybe wouldnt spend it on such things as "truck bling".
Glad I didn't, probably saved me when things got tough.
Startrd to lift the Ferd when I rebuilt the front end. Also glad I didn't do that.
Still have a stock 95 F150 4x4 that runs pretty good. Who else can say that? Ford and Chevy got it right in the early to mid 90s. Everything after not so much.
when i modified it was to add ability to haul and pull
never wanted a daily driver off road truck
the 74 i built was raised by springs had 4 leafs in the front and 9 in the back
you couldnt drink coffee in it but you could load it down
full time 4wd and never needed to lock it in

Google right to repair.
John Deere is supposed to give customers access to their systems.
Honestly my neighbors haven't had any John Deere issue's they've told me about.
Usually they wait on parts for months
That goes for all manufacturers.
I've read about upset deere customers
Especially in the industry's out west.

Uh huh.
How about this line of thinking?
Internet is nice for bsing, and learning a bunch of info that wasnt available years ago, but it CANT be secured.
Therefore, critical processes that our infrastructire needs to function need to be done OFFLINE.
ONLY safe way IMO.

I've only had a warranty work for me once. 55" Sharp tv flaked out. Was perfect timing because the wife needed a new computer for school.

The KBG does everything by pen and paper. Unhackable.

Our own government actually does a similar thing. There is a computer system, but its 80s tech. Old rgb monitors and slow tower processor systems. All offline, so not hackable.
The problem lies in the fact that we dont protect our critical supply lines as well.
We allow the pipelines and other providers of critical support infrastructure to do as they please to a point.

I thought it was a New Process 435, but then I took a better look when I pulled the bellhousing off.
New Process and New Venture stuff is good.
Ford used a lot of different providers for transmissions.
Ive had F-150s with Mazda, BW, even Peugeot transmissions.
