He's right you know but considering a well place adjustment on the tree trunk
One cut to free it from the rest of the mess and then boom... all better now. Just use a ladder to place it under the hangup point.

This old beast of a tree was no good as a marketable piece of timber, so when they cut the timber around it, they left it standing, and vulnerable to the wind.....and the wind did it in.

Cut off the main trunk stem at ground height to free up the snag.

Stay on the good side or safe side if it has one. If you can get a ladder to the back side most guys will try to cut them... bad idea. I climb the back side with gaffs and one lanyard to make one cut through most of the trunk a few feet below the hang. Wedges all around. Then grab a snatch bock and hook up the lugall to pull it free.
