It's a 1989 model 88 special.
Original to the boat.
OMC was making boats for awhile.
This one is a Sunbird 17' bay boat.
They sold out to Hydrasports around 1994 I THINK.

I remember those boats and many more that went the same way. Jersey got everything at one time or another. We have water everywhere.

Shaved 140 heads, timing bump and 135 exhaust plate up top is a big deal on those 88's. They have medium size heads like a commercial 90V4 but better port timing on the 88 blocks. Weisco slugs matched, a good shave and some spinny thingy really makes them go with the parts swap but buy good fuel.

Was out in the fall on a slightly warmed over shaved block 115 running 140 heads, exhaust and gear case ;) no port work needed but maybe next year. 15' 1971 Glasstron known as the Silver Bullet. The scary one is Tazz2 it has the hot worked up 135 with some nice carbs we did up for late September... runs on quiet waters. No chokes, holes all over the air box and top cover lol. 75 mph in a 16' Baha with 21P three blade. Do the math, it's quick. Motor pulls right past 7K
88 is well known for performance just like the 135s

Joe can rip!
He sure can, but he’s got a tendency to get overly technical, at least for my taste. I like his melodic stuff, not just his crazy technical solos. I prefer Steve Vai over Satriani.

I also prefer Vie. Vinnie Moore is my favorite of all time though. All those guys are awesome though. On that level.

I agree. Incredible talent all around. I don’t know my ass from my elbow when it comes to music, as far as how it’s made or played, I just know what I like. Lol
