I've got a good 353 closed port cylinder with removable transfer caps (Which I think is exactly the same cylinder as the late 350) lying around if it helps Adz.While Ed's 346'd 350 is getting Pic for Attention......any one got a mild upgrade recipe for a 42mm open port 345 that DOESN'T involve a 350 riser and a better closed port cylinder? Bit of muff action and hope a Meteor piston is a bit taller is all i've got so far.
But I think you would need a 350 riser for it.....I've got a good 353 closed port cylinder with removable transfer caps (Which I think is exactly the same cylinder as the late 350) lying around if it helps Adz.
No real recipe. Open up the stock opening as much as you can under the deflector. Gasket match the exhaust port. Widen at the cylinder wall if you feel comfortable. Same with the intake. File the flywheel key about 1/3.While Ed's 346'd 350 is getting Pic for Attention......any one got a mild upgrade recipe for a 42mm open port 345 that DOESN'T involve a 350 riser and a better closed port cylinder? Timaru you say? Hmmmm.....Speaking of fast 346xp's I used my 346 with Extra Sausages yesterday as well as the XS500i at my BIL's in Timaru, he has a very nice property and approximately 2.5 acres of 20 year old cypress, pine and Eucluptus firewood trees. Both saws were absolute lightsabers in the smallish soft woods. The MS280 in the pic below didn't even stand a chance....

Ta bro, i've got a whole (bar obligatory Adam case break...) 353 of my own. Thought i'd see what a 42mm OP holds, and cheap boy cheap.I've got a good 353 closed port cylinder with removable transfer caps (Which I think is exactly the same cylinder as the late 350) lying around if it helps Adz.

Paycheck will definitely suffer, but putting the @Stump Shot 346 jug onto my 350.
