We use an auger or chain saw and put a little shanty over the hole. Put a propane heater in there (unless the sun is shining it stays warm) and catch dinner

Well, this sucks

We were headed down to Homer tomorrow to see the granddaughters and their mom but we just heard from them

They just last week drove all the way up to Fairbanks and then over to Delta to pick up a new year and a half old colt

A very expensive colt at that

They got it back to Homer over the weekend and put it in a makeshift “fenced” area in their front yard

This colt has had minimal human interaction

The fence consisted of 4’ T posts with a rope running along the top

Long story short, the horse took off at some point on Sunday and hadn’t been seen since

Even if someone sees it they don’t think anyone will be able to approach it or catch it

They are searching and told us not to bother coming down

There have been several bears still up and active this year

Pretty messed up situation

Takes some real extreme cold to stop a spring from flowing.
