i had a couple of those and never had to lock it in so something was wrong with yoursHad a '74 Cheyenne 3/4 ton, 350V84V full time 4x4 locked in with brand new tires, pulled all over the place by a little Subaru, truck was totally at it's mercy. It was quite the pos off road as well, getting stuck was its favorite trick. That was 1985 and my disillusionment with Chevrolet was over.

Easy way is start with a one ton 4x4. Add dually rear end and bed. Build your own flatbed if the bed is hard to find.lol i have to have something to work off of
