We actually call them white ants it’s not so much eating through concrete it’s shrinkage during curing which created small gaps for the bastarhttps://pin.it/5U26GFTds to get through,they are very persistent

In LA. they have some very bad termites I found out the hard way. I bought a bass boat from there years ago that was mint. Stored it over the winter and noticed when i got it out it had these funny looking dirt trails down the transom. Didnt pay no mind till I put it in the water and took it up on plain. Looked back and noticed the transom was moving with each wave, a lot. They ate everything that was wood including the stringers.
